Plan your outfit the night before
There are two types of people – those who throw on any old thing, without a second thought and those who change their outfit eight times, before settling on the first one. If you’re the latter, then you’re probably wasting a lot of valuable time in the morning.
Planning your outfit before you go to bed can make a world of difference when you’re in a rush. Check the weather forecast, pick out an outfit and feel the relief, when your clothes are already there, laid out for you when you wake up.
Have a quick and easy breakfast option available
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to sit down and enjoy a leisurely breakfast every day? The reality of it is, that many of us opt for sleep over food, first thing in the morning. While breakfast is extremely important, preparing even the simplest of meals, can seem rather slow, when you’re under time constraints.
There are plenty of healthy options available that you can prepare ahead of time, whip up quickly or take with you on the go. A few ideas you might like to try are: overnight oats, smoothies or wholegrain muffins.
Have a set location for all your necessities
There’s nothing more frustrating than pulling apart the house, in search of your wallet – let alone, when you’re in a rush to get to work. Eliminate this problem completely, by leaving all your necessities for the day in one location. That way, you know where everything is, so there will be no game of hide and seek with your car keys at 7AM.
If you want to be super prepared, you can even pop everything you need into your bag the night before. This will also decrease the chance of leaving something important behind.
Create a simple hair and makeup routine
There’s nothing wrong with taking pride in your appearance but when you spend two hours every morning perfecting it, you may want to change things up a little. Simple hair and makeup, doesn’t have to be boring!
By now, you would know what the most time consuming parts of your routine are. If it takes you a good half an hour to straighten your hair, why not do it the night before? Or if you’re spending 20 minutes attempting to create the perfect wing, maybe go with a different look? It’s all about making things easier for yourself!
Make a to do list for the next day
Settling into a routine is important and although a lot of your days may start to feel the same, there are usually at least some differences that set them apart. Maybe one morning you need to get into the office early, to prepare for a meeting. Or perhaps you left the dishes last night, so now you need to wash them before work.
Factoring in all the little things the night before, gives you time to prepare and plan your morning accordingly. A good way to keep track, is to regularly update your diary or planner, or even better, create a good old fashioned to do list! Having everything there in point form, can really help when your brain is still in sleep mode.
