Lorde – Melodrama

If you’re looking for some quality new tunes, this album is the one to listen to! Lorde’s highly-anticipated record, Melodrama was released on June 16 and is nothing short of amazing. Although the 20-year-old may have seemed rather quiet over the past few years, she was doing what most of us do in our late teens – growing up.

A lot seems to happen during this stage of life, relationship breakdowns, heartache and finding your place in the world – all of which Lorde addresses in her own unique way. This album will truly take you on an emotional roller-coaster, with having you feel like crying one minute and dancing the next.

Lorde once again proves herself as a songwriter, with lyrics that are both powerful, relatable and wise beyond her years. Some top tracks you might want to check out are: Sober, Homemade Dynamite, Hard Feelings/Loveless, Sober II (Melodrama) and Perfect Places.

Organic Choice air freshener and linen spray

There’s nothing better than drifting off to sleep in clean, fresh smelling bedding. Organic Choice makes it easy with their eco-friendly linen spray, which doubles as an air freshener. The spray comes in two scents, lemongrass and cedarwood and grapefruit and pomegranate, both of which have a lovely natural aroma.

Perfect to spritz on your freshly washed sheets and towels or just generally around the house, if a room needs a bit of a pick-me-up! Available at Coles for $5.50 AUD each.

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

Just your classic teenage love story of a boy who falls for the girl next door… except she actually lives across the street. Oh, and she can’t leave the house because if she does, she could die.

Everything, Everything is a beautifully written story about a teenager named Maddy, who has a rare condition which has left her confined to the house for her entire life. Despite her abnormal upbringing Maddy seems to almost accept her life for what it is – that is until Olly moves in across the street.

Not only does she have deal with the standard teenage angst but she’s also trying to figure out who she is as a person, away from her illness. Meeting Olly opens up a lot of doors for Maddy (quite literally) and although she risks a lot, he is ultimately the reason she is able to find her true self.

A great read with lots of sweet moments between the sad ones and a good old fashioned twist!
